Following a full inspection in November by the Independent Schools Inspectorate, the inspection report for Skippers Hill Manor Preparatory School in East Sussex rated its Early Years provision as outstanding.
According to the report, the provision provides “a welcoming, interesting and stimulating environment for children to enjoy” and also highlighted how “children in the Early Years make excellent progress in relation to their starting points and outcomes are outstanding.”
The school, which currently has 137 pupils, has recently undergone a significant building development programme which includes the creation of a new Early Years department which will house a new Kindergarten class opening in April 2012.
Head Teacher, Mr. Lewis, was delighted with the result and paid tribute to staff and pupils.
“This was a rigorous inspection of every facet of the school and revealed Skippers in its true and vibrant colours. It has also happened at a very exciting time as we look to extend our school provision to cater for 3-4 year olds. The report positively radiates praise and all the staff and children deserve commendation for an excellent overall performance.”
The report also recognised the school’s excellent spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of its pupils. In particular, the pupils’ spiritual development was rated as outstanding, as “pupils express themselves and their feelings clearly and have strong self-esteem and self-confidence, which is encouraged by the school’s support and awareness of all their achievements and spiritual well-being.”
The school was also recently featured in the Sunday Times Top 100 Prep School list.
