Situated in the heart of the Chiltern Hills in the beautiful village of Great Missenden (home of Roald Dahl), Gateway School is a co-educational, independent day school for children aged two to eleven.

Head's welcome

We are a warm, family-feel community where every child is celebrated for their individuality and known to all.

At Gateway School we are committed to providing learning experiences that holistically prepare our children for their next schools and life beyond. Aside from encouraging and inspiring every pupil to reach their potential across the curriculum, we also seek to help them discover their talents and nurture these too.

We believe in providing opportunities to develop character and promote curiosity, flexibility, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking within our curriculum. Throughout the school, the committed and highly-skilled staff encourage their pupils to challenge themselves and build resilience whilst feeling safe, cared for and supported.

We are very proud of our pupils’ learning journeys at Gateway School; they transfer to secondary school as confident individuals, with a secure sense of who they are and are well-equipped to take on their next challenges.

Please do take this opportunity to explore our website further and I warmly invite you to visit the school and see for yourselves what we are able to offer you and your child.

Mr Jonathan Coke, Headteacher

Gateway’s core belief is that education is not just about academic success; it is about building a foundation that gives each child the confidence and skills they need to be the best they can be now and in the future.

The School seeks to provide a nurturing and inspiring learning environment which builds confidence, identifies and develops every pupil’s strengths, and ignites their passion for learning.

The School achieves excellent academic results every year,  with pupils obtaining places at notable Independent and Grammar Schools.
