Wandsworth Preparatory School

Wandsworth Preparatory School’s aim is to inspire and challenge children to love learning. The school prides itself on its child-centred approach to teaching and learning, celebrating the individual talents and personalities of every child.

Wandsworth Preparatory School believes that school should be a fun, exciting place where children can learn in a secure environment and be willing to take risks when trying out new ways of learning. How children learn is as important to the school as what they learn.

Head's welcome

Welcome to Wandsworth Prep School

Welcome to Wandsworth Preparatory School! We are a close knit community driven by a shared vision and unwavering commitment to excellence.  Our small school, for boys and girls ages 3-11, is nestled near the edge of Wandsworth Common and the children benefit greatly from the beautiful natural environment surrounding our school.

At Wandsworth Preparatory, our vision is clear: we aspire for our pupils to be confident individuals with a real passion for learning. We champion academic success alongside the development of character, fostering a deep-rooted respect and empathy for others. Pupils at our school are happy to take risks, try new things and hone their skills and talents.

Our mission is simple yet profound: to cultivate an environment where academic rigour meets creative expression, empowering our students to thrive. We believe in the power of immersive, interconnected learning experiences tailored to each child’s unique interests and needs.

At the heart of our core values lies a dedication to understanding and celebrating the individuality of every student. We recognise that true excellence stems from embracing diversity and nurturing each child’s distinct talents.

Join us at Wandsworth Preparatory School, where we not only educate minds but also nurture hearts and character. Together, let’s embark on a journey of discovery, growth, and endless possibilities.

Head of Wandsworth Prep

At Wandsworth Preparatory School, we are passionate about our belief that a happy child is a learning child. We want children to leave Wandsworth Prep as happy, confident and kind individuals with the skills required to be independent learners, well-prepared for their next stage in learning with a natural readiness to embrace the challenges of an ever-changing world.

  • How do we achieve this?

    • We believe that an academically challenging environment underpinned by creativity provides the strongest opportunities for success.
    • We believe that pupils achieve more when learning is immersive, interconnected and relevant to their interest and needs.
    • We believe our excellent outcomes are achieved because we know our children well, celebrate individuality and foster each child’s unique talent.
    • We believe our strong values and character development enable our children to be confident and achieve excellence in all aspects of school life.

We want children to leave Wandsworth Prep as happy, confident and kind individuals, with the skills required to be independent learners, well-prepared for their next stage in learning with a natural readiness to embrace the challenges of an ever-changing world.
