Early Years Educator (Level 3)

This apprenticeship is suitable for Nursery Practitioners, an 18 month course that moves beyond basic childcare to develop professional pedagogical expertise.

Our Early Years Educator Level 3 programme is designed to transform you into a skilled, confident, and research-informed practitioner, ready to excel in your nursery setting.

By completing this 18 month programme, you will gain the nationally recognised Level 3 qualification required to work as an Early Years Educator, ensuring you can consistently deliver safe, inclusive, and high-quality learning experiences aligned with the latest EYFS statutory framework.

The curriculum builds both your competence and confidence, preparing you for success in the End Point Assessment (EPA) and creating a clear pathway for career progression into senior roles like Room Leader or Nursery Manager, or for further academic study at Level 4 and beyond.

This apprenticeship focuses on:

  • Holistic Child Development: Understanding the physical, emotional, and cognitive milestones of children from birth to age five to provide tailored, age-appropriate support.
  • Early Years Philosophy and Practice: Looking at the different philosophies and practices that underpin pedagogy and approach, such as Reggio Emilio, The Curiosity Approach, Building Cultural Capital, Loose Parts play, In the Moment planning, Zones of Proximal Development and Piagetian theory.
  • Curriculum & Safeguarding Excellence: Mastering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements while ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, risk assessment and child protection are understood and met.
  • Observation and Assessment: Developing and honing the skills needed to observe, record, and plan for children’s progress, ensuring a measurable impact on their early outcomes.
  • Partnership Working: Building professional, trusting relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies to support a collaborative approach to a child’s development.
  • Professional Reflective Practice: Using reflective models to continuously evaluate and refine classroom practice, ensuring practitioners remain at the forefront of early years excellence.
