Head's welcome

A very warm welcome to Norfolk House – a small school with a big, beating heart.

We are committed to ensuring that your child thrives, enjoys school to the utmost and realises their potential to the fullest. Their experience at Norfolk House, from the small class sizes to the highly personalised learning provision, has been carefully curated to nurture and grow the unique person within.

At Norfolk House, we view academic excellence and personal growth not as competing priorities but as profoundly interdependent outcomes of a quality education. The young people who leave Norfolk House are confident yet humble, creative yet pragmatic, empathic yet resilient. A glance at our leavers’ destinations demonstrates that London’s leading senior schools consistently see the contribution and potential that Norfolk House pupils offer.

Though the prospect may seem a distant one now, we know that our pupils today will become the adult role models of tomorrow. To equip them for the fast-changing world into which they will grow up is a duty in which we take great pride and great care. Our future-facing curriculum and time-tested values support pupils to develop into flourishing individuals, developing both self-efficacy and a life-long curiosity about the world and those with whom they share it.

I am deeply proud of the pupils and staff at Norfolk House and the uniquely diverse and supportive community they comprise – one which is often accurately characterised as ‘a village school in the heart of North London’.

We are proud of our achievements. We have a nurturing environment where children feel supported and valued.

We want our pupils to be excited by school and all it offers. We want our pupils to develop their curiosity and independent thinking skills; we also want our pupils to develop confidence in all that they do.

Norfolk House has a very strong community. Parents and pupils are committed and supportive of all the school does; this is a key ingredient of the school’s success.

Due to the school’s success and popularity, we do operate waiting list and priority waiting list systems. The majority of our families live in Muswell Hill, Highgate and Crouch End.

Our Nursery, Reception and Form 1 classes are housed in a converted three-storey Victorian house in Princes Avenue, Muswell Hill (previously Montessori House Nursery, which was acquired by Bellevue Education and merged with Norfolk House School in 2013).

Form 2 to Form 6 are housed in a charming Victorian house which retains many of its original features, in Muswell Avenue.
