Bellevue nursery launched in lockdown continues to thrive
News
Launched in the challenging climate of the first nationwide lockdown earlier this year, The Webber Nursery, of The Webber Independent School, Milton Keynes, continues to exceed expectations.
Part of a Bellevue school, The Webber Nursery welcomes registrations from the ages of six months to four years. It is divided into three dedicated rooms, allowing children to thrive in small groups with individual attention and a personalised learning journey.
Opened in February 2020, The Webber Nursery cancelled its much-awaited grand opening. Nonetheless, it adapted accordingly to the changing climate, with interviews being conducted online and virtual tours and open days offered in response to parental queries.
In compliance with social distancing regulations, the Nursery has also offered a range of activities to encourage movement and play, including baby yoga, cookery, language skills and forest play exploration.
In the short time since its opening, the Nursery has enjoyed a wealth of positive feedback from parents, with one commenting:
‘The Webber Nursery has met and exceeded my expectations. My son is happy there and can’t wait to tell me what he has done each day. He has come on in leaps and bounds. I have the opportunity to speak to the staff every day (particularly my son’s key worker). I’m delighted with my decision to start my son at The Webber Nursery.’
Another parent adds:
‘The Webber Nursery takes great care in making sure my boys are well looked after and the updates I receive are thorough. They have focus weeks and ensure they are bringing out the very best in creativity, learning, confidence, teaching and kindness in my little ones. My baby didn’t take long to settle in and be happy on drop-offs and my toddler loves going to pre-school there because he says, “It’s fun and we do LOADS of cool stuff”.’
Acting Nursery Manager, Melissa Flowers, joined the nursery following 15 years in the early years sector. In her previous role as a Nursery Manager for an independent nursery in South Northamptonshire, she progressed the nursery’s Ofsted rating from ‘good’ to ‘outstanding’.
She adds:
‘It is a privilege to work here because the staff are so enthusiastic and passionate about early years care and education! We are constantly exploring new exciting ways to simulate and challenge our littlest learners. We fully live the Webber ethos of ‘Stage Not Age’ and help our children to reach their potential in a fun and engaging way from a young age.’
The Webber Independent School promises to provide their children with a first-class individualised learning journey, an environment in which each of their children are encouraged to strive for greatness on their chosen path and reach their individual potential. In its most recent ISI Whole-School Focused Compliance and Educational Quality Inspection, the school was awarded ‘Excellent’ in all areas.
