HRH Prince and Princess Michael of Kent open Early Years Facilities at The Hampshire School Chelsea

The Hampshire School Chelsea welcomed all year groups to its Manresa Road main building for the first time, with the opening of an expansive Pre-School.

In celebration of the move, HRH Prince Michael of Kent, accompanied by HRH Princess Michael of Kent, did the honours of cutting the ribbon to officially open the new facility. The Royal couple have a strong link to the school as their grandchildren attend the Chelsea prep school.

For the special occasion, the school was also joined by CEO and Founder of Bellevue Education, Mark Malley, CEO Europe/UK of Gems Education, Jay Varkey, and Group Education Director of Bellevue Education, Steve Wade.

The re-location of the Pre-School, previously located at Wetherby Place in South Kensington, means that The Hampshire School Chelsea now welcomes all age groups, from aged 3 to 13, under one roof.

Nursery and Reception children will enjoy learning in an inspirational environment and enjoy one of the school’s prized assets, its generous outdoor space coupled with an adventure playground climbing frame.

Mark Malley commented: “It has been wonderful to see the excitement and delight in children’s faces on their first day back to school, and now all under one roof at The Hampshire School Chelsea. The opening of the school’s new Pre-School facilities is a fitting start to the new year; bringing the whole school community together, and celebrating the dedication and hard work of all staff who have worked tirelessly to ensure continuity of learning for all of their pupils – through lockdown and as we look ahead to a new year.”
