Head's welcome

I am delighted to welcome you to Skippers Hill. It is a wonderful school that my family and I are extremely proud to be a part of.

The children here are at the heart of the school and ensuring their happiness and wellbeing is key: the high academic achievement, broad range of talents and impressive social confidence that the children show year after year is embedded in our core ethos. Their smiles speak for themselves!

An excellent team of specialist staff provide exciting opportunities for our children to achieve to the best of their abilities in all areas. Whether they thrive on academic challenge, feel the burning desire to perform, are bursting with the creative spirit or can’t wait to hit the sports field, the children are encouraged to make the most of every opportunity here. I truly believe that a childhood at Skippers is what a childhood should be…and my own child would testify to that!

Our strong academic results are proven, with children consistently performing above national and local averages at every stage of their education. For a mixed ability school we have an excellent reputation for gaining significant numbers of scholarships for entry to top senior schools at 13+ across a range of disciplines. The school has a strong, long-standing relationship with the senior schools in the area and Skippers pupils are highly sought-after for their sound academic grounding, strong sense of community spirit and overall zest for life.

At Skippers we are blessed with a stunning rural setting which truly enables the all-round development of the children in our care: we give children the space to flourish in every sense and our bespoke programme of outdoor learning is interwoven throughout the curriculum for all ages.

As you will be able to tell from the website we are a warm and welcoming community: please do come and visit us to gain a deeper understanding of what a special place Skippers is. I look forward to introducing you to our school.
