Our story

Our beginnings

In 2003 Mark Malley –  our CEO and founder – took over Norfolk House, a troubled London prep school. Having failed two inspections it was on the verge of closing, but within a year Mark turned the school around, achieving an outstanding inspection report from the Independent Schools Inspectorate.

Growing together

By 2011 Norfolk House had become a high achieving, oversubscribed school and was sharing best practice with other schools – helping them on their own journey to success. Mark’s passion for helping schools reach excellent standards was firmly formed and by 2012 Bellevue had acquired six UK prep schools and taken the first step towards forming Bellevue; our family of schools.

Broadening perspectives

Surval Montreux in Switzerland became our first international school in 2012. In the same year Wandsworth Prep was our first startup school, and in 2015 Ealing College became our first UK senior school. The Group also established a partnership with the State of Qatar to launch the Swiss International School in Qatar in 2016, and today we also have a school in France.

Educational vision

Core to the success of our schools has been the forming of a central team of leading educational professionals to drive initiatives, raise standards, and share best practice. Our Education Directors are all former head teachers who bring an unrivalled level of experience and expertise to each of our schools.

Supporting excellence

Helping schools to focus on being excellent educators first and foremost is key to our approach. To enable this we have built a central resource of professional services comprised of finance, marketing and IT teams. Our schools not only get the resources they need to flourish, but also access to expertise that would not otherwise be possible.

Achieving together

Today we have 21 schools in the group, over 4000 pupils and 1000 staff working together to achieve amazing things. The strength of our community was evident in the way each school, child and family came together to support each other through the global pandemic. We truly believe that together we can.
