Situated in an idyllic four-acre site, bordered by woodland in the quiet, desirable area of Hiltingbury in Hampshire, Sherborne House School is a co-educational independent day school for pupils aged six months to eleven years.

At Sherborne House, the children are the focus of all we do.  We want them to enjoy, value and grow from all their experiences with us, and to leave school with a life-long love of learning, and the confidence and resilience to achieve their goals and dreams.

Head's welcome

Welcome to Sherborne House School and I hope that what you find here will give you a good insight in all that the School has to offer.

At Sherborne House, we believe that the strengths of the School lie firmly in its commitment to viewing each child as an individual. Sherborne House provides an environment where every child’s talents and passions are nurtured and developed. Inspired teaching and a passionate dedicated staff ensure that we deliver a broad, dynamic and innovative curriculum.

Excellent pastoral care underpins all that we do at Sherborne House. We firmly believe that children achieve academic success when they are happy and fulfilled. Working closely with parents, Sherborne House aims to build self-confidence and give each child the necessary skills to realise his or her full potential both now and later in life.

I hope our website gives you a useful glimpse into life at Sherborne House; the spirit, energy and enjoyment which make it such a special place. However, ultimately there is no substitute for a personal visit and I look forward to meeting you and showing you around the school.

Core Values

Our mission is expressed through core values that form the guiding principles of keeping children at the heart of all we do. At Sherborne House, we aim to:

Inspire children through a learning experience that offers purpose and challenge, reflecting their interests, piquing their curiosity and finding their strengths so that they persevere to build on their successes and carry their learning forward within a curriculum and co-curriculum delivered by committed, passionate teachers

Nurture children’s character so that they become content and considerate, reflective and resilient, with a clear sense of their own values and worth as individuals and learners, together with their commitments to their friends and community

Value each individual within our school by recognising each child’s unique requirements and celebrating their personal successes as well as working in close partnership with every family, keeping the child at the heart of every decision
